Beatriz Leonardo is a Portuguese multimedia artist living in Bristol. His artistic practice varies between illustration and printing techniques, through animation and graphic design.
She is interested in the symbiosis between analog and digital, figurative and conceptual, and the line of demarcation that separates reality from the imaginary. Inspired by the dream realm and dystopian technological futures, she tries to recreate memories of masked creatures using simple black lines, in a world where all that is ephemeral is eternal.
Her illustrations are inspired by themes of surrealism, mythology and identity. Exploring the possibilities of storytelling using different mediums, she creates graphic novels, comic books, zines and animations seeking to exploit narrative in all its forms.
